The Internationally renowned Italian jazz pianist Roberto Magris presents in an unique jazz setting the best of the Italian pop songbook with amazing arrangements, angular chords and fluent straight jazz improvisations.
The band includes the outstanding Italian pop singer Maria Dal Rovere (Sanremo, RAI 1, Canale 5 TV, Castrocaro etc.), who’s vocal tone and emotional range are so impressive facing the classic piano-bass-drums jazz trio. Drummer Paolo Prizzon is one of the top studio musicians in Italy, working with the most famous names (from Fabrizio Bosso to Alessandro Safina and the Moscow Prokofiev Orchestra) and bassist Mario Cogno is a veteran of the Italian jazz scene with several foremost collaborations. Roberto Magris is one of the most renowned and appreciated European jazz pianists in the USA, where he’s the musical director of JMood Records, the Kansas City jazz label.
He has recorded 18 albums and has played concerts in 40 different countries in Europe, America, Asia, Africa and Australia, also performing at several top jazz festivals and jazz clubs in the world, including “Catalina Jazz Club” in Hollywood, “The Blue Room” in Kansas City, “The Jazz Bakery” in Los Angeles, “Porgy & Bess” in Vienna, “Unterfahrt” in Munich, “Bennett’s Lane” in Melbourne, “Montreal Jazz Festival”, “San Sebastian Jazz Festival”, “Ocho Rios Jamaica”, “Umbria Jazz” and many others. Magris has collaborated and recorded with Art Davis (bassist for John Coltrane), Albert “Tootie” Heath, Idris Muhammad, Herb Geller, Sam Reed, Brandon Lee, Logan Richardson, Paul Carr, Tony Lakatos, Franco Ambrosetti, Philip Catherine and many others. About Magris’ style, jazz critic Ira Gitler wrote: “as a pianist he reflects some of his most admired models – Wynton Kelly, Tommy Flanagan, Bill Evans, Kenny Drew, Jaki Byard, Randy Weston, McCoy Tyner, Andrew Hill, Paul Bley, Don Pullen and Steve Kuhn (a varied group indeed) – in his own way.

He has also worked as a studio player for many famous musicians. He has performed or recorded with Stanley Turrentine, Billy Cobham, Bruce Springsteen, Lou Reed, Sandip Burman, Charles Mingus, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Horace Silver, Frank Zappa, Parliament-Funkadelic, Chris Parker, Jaco Pastorius, Dire Straits, Todd Rundgren, Blue Öyster Cult, Richard Barone, Spyro Gyra, Barbara Dennerlein and many others.
In his formative years, Brecker studied trumpet with Bill Adam at Indiana University. He is the older brother of the late jazz saxophonist Michael Brecker (1949 – 2007). Together they led Dreams and the Brecker Brothers, a popular funk and fusion band which recorded several albums from the 1970s through the 1990s. After the Brecker Brothers disbanded in 1982, Randy recorded and toured as a member of Jaco Pastorius Word of Mouth big band. It was soon thereafter that he met and later married Brazilian jazz pianist Eliane Elias.
Eliane and Randy formed their own band, touring the world several times and recording one album together, Amanda on Passport Records. In the summer of 2001, Randy reunited with his brother Michael for a Europe tour with an acoustic version of the Brecker Brothers, also promoting songs from Hangin In The City.
His most recent CD for ESC, 34th N Lex released in April 2003, features eleven new Randy Brecker compositions and arrangements and the dream horn sections of David Sanborn, Michael Brecker, Fred Wesley and Ronnie Cuber, along with Randy’s regular working band and his current wife, the Italian tenor saxophonist Ada Rovatti, whose playing style bears a striking resemblance to Michael Brecker’s, as she plays many of his signature licks. He is part of the GRP All-Star Big Band.
it’s a quartet consists of young, ambitious musicians, open to either main stream jazz or classical and avant – garde music. All of them are studying at the Music Academy in Krakow – they are active musicians giving concerts all over Europe. In the 2011/2012, High Definition has won 3 prestigious international competitions – Krokus Jazz, NationalReviewof Jazz and Blues Bands and Jazz Hoeilaart. In January 2012 High Definition was considered as no.1 of Jazz Top in Debut Category by Jazzarium.pl.
The quartet members have been awarded several times, among others: Jazz nad Odrą (Wroclaw), Jazz Juniors (Krakow), Krokus Jazz (Jelenia Gora), Novum Jazz (Lomza), Blues nad Bobrem (Boleslawiec), RCK pro JAZZ (Kolobrzeg), Jazz Hoeilaart (Belgium) or Montreux Jazz Festival (Switzerland). Piotr Orzechowski, a pianist, is a winnerofMontreux Jazz Piano Competition 2011.
High Definition is creating its own, original compositions from the borderlands of jazz and contemporary music as well as performing new arrangements of the jazz standards and works by the composers of the classical music.
